"Thank you for writing that story! It's not often adult fiction has a plot or is written intelligently, with humor. I stumbled upon it on probably the first day it was released on SmashWords and it was a pleasure to read. ... While I see you plan to work on similar tales, I'm concerned that as short stories they won't allow for decent character development. I also feel short stories just don't build properly, which Sexcalation happily did. Finally, I applaud your choice of pricing the book reasonably. Sexy Name Change & Another Sexy Chapter

As you might guess, this post relates to my upcoming "male romance novel."  Naughty things will be discussed.

First off, though, a name change.  For years, this book was going to be called Depraved.  I decided against that since the things described therein weren't really depraved, per se.  Maybe to some people.  But still ... not nearly so far gone as to warrant that title.

A few weeks ago, I decided to go with I Pronounce You Husbands & Wives.  A bit wordy, but it was more applicable.  Unfortunately, it didn't match the gist of the whole work.

I decided the other day to change it to Sexcalation.  You know, "escalation" with some "sex" on the front.  Maybe a bit too on the nose?  Perhaps.  But it is more in line with the story.

I'm not 100% sold on that title, so I might change it again.  If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know in the comments below.

UPDATE: My wife has finished reading the first part of the book ... and approves.

OK, I've decided which book to work on next.

My "male romance novel."  Working title has been Depraved, but I'm now leaning toward I Pronounce You Husbands & Wives.  I started writing it back in 2008 but stopped after a while.

At any rate, I'm not actually writing more just yet.  I need someone's approval.

My wife.

Now, before you start thinking "whu-PISHHH!" (that would be a whip noise), there's a good reason for it.  No, the subject matter doesn't bother her.  She loves porn.  LOVES it.  And she loves reading sexy books.  Man, I lucked out in that regard.

What's that, honey?  Sure.  I'll delete that bit.

Anyways.  I want her approval because a good bit of the book is semi-autobiographical.  Doesn't feel fair to be telling tales about her without her OK.

So.  If she gives the "thumbs up," I'll start banging it out.  So to speak.

If she doesn't, then I move on to something else.
